- It is used as micronutrient and in electroplating industry. It remove metal impurities from solutions. It is used in sequester metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper. Potassium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Kn-EDTA) is used as an anticoagulant in blood sample tubes, and as an antidote for metal poisoning. KEDTA is used as an antidote for metal poisoning, removing calcium and lead from the body. It's also used as a T-cell resuspension buffer, to prevent bacteria from forming a biofilm. It is used in electroplating industries and to eliminate inhibition of enzyme catalysed reactions used in Metal treatment industries. It acts as an anticoagulant by binding calcium ions in the blood through EDTA. For anticoagulants in blood collection. Tri potassium EDTA is generally used in haematology tests in clinical chemistry laboratories.
