Usage
It is used as micronutrient and in electroplating industry. It remove metal impurities from solutions. It is used in sequester metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper. Potassium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Kn-EDTA) is used as an anticoagulant in blood sample tubes, and as an antidote for metal poisoning. KEDTA is used as an antidote for metal poisoning, removing calcium and lead from the body. It's also used as a T-cell resuspension buffer, to prevent bacteria from forming a biofilm. It is used in electroplating industries and to eliminate inhibition of enzyme catalysed reactions used in Metal treatment industries. It acts as an anticoagulant by binding calcium ions in the blood through EDTA. For anticoagulants in blood collection. Tri potassium EDTA is generally used in haematology tests in clinical chemistry laboratories.

Handling

EDTA and its strong solution causes serious irritant to eyes and skin. While handling this product, please wear goggles, gloves, and rubber boots. In case of large spillage first spread soda ash and wash it with plenty of water. In case of injury to skin, wash it water and then wash thoroughly with soap and water. However, looking to the seriousness of each case, medical attention must be obtained.

Storage

Tri potassium EDTA should be stored in a cool dry place. Stored in container made of, or lined with polyethylene, polypropylene.
